The Galaxy Express Features Erotic SFR and Forbidden Love!

News Flash: -- SF Signal a premier site/blog for Science Fiction has just picked up The Galaxy Express article featuring Forbidden Love... in the SF Tidbits section for August 11. (Scroll down to find it-- but hey-- it is there!)

What's happening today?

The Galaxy Express is discussing worldbuilding in SFR (Sci-Fi Romance) especially as it relates to erotic SFR. And guess what? They are featuring examples from FORBIDDEN LOVE as good worldbuilding! The post is up now. Heather Massey, the extraordinary keeper of The Galaxy Expess has fascinating concepts. She and I have had a few interesting conversations about worldbuilding and with her permission, I've shared some of our email talks in the comment section of  the TGE post:

In this case, it means do erotic SFR authors need to be more informed and research Science Fiction and know their stuff when it comes to writing SFR. To pique your interest, here is some of what I shared  in the comments from a private conversation with Heather Massey in an email:

Kaye: I emphasize woldbuilding so much when I write SFR or talk about it. I'm such a Sci-Fi girl from the get-go, so it was just natural for me to write in this genre.

Heather: I can be happy with a good-faith effort. It's the stories that seem as though the author just phoned it in that concern me. Like you said, why bother writing SFR at all if your heart's not in it?

Kaye: I have author friends (a few are erotic authors) who have mentioned they would like to write SFR. I say, well, do you love the genre? Do you immerse yourself in the books constantly and search for new releases, can you not wait for the next SF movie or TV show to air, do you love finding and researching scientific theories, and is your mind always creating 'strange new worlds'? Do you know the terminology? ETC.

Heather: Exactly. They don't have to be hardcore, just a fan on a regular basis. Because readers will know...

Fantastic topic! Stop by for a visit, read the post/comments and leave a comment of your own at

Coffee Time Reviews FORBIDDEN LOVE

Remember when this released back in May? I'm so excited to share with my fellow readers and authors the Coffee Time Romance review of my sensual little SFR eBook

This is an interesting review, and earned four cups by one of CTR's highly regarded reviewers. It is great to know that SFR authors are out there and getting noticed. Another great thing-- FL is now available at Amazon and is on Kindle! I'm so pleased and impressed.

FORBIDDEN LOVE (CTR Review)

Reptilian specialist Dr. Maya Belle loves spending her days studying and caring for her beloved scaly desert friends. However, the government uses this desert as training grounds, and she fears for their existence as much as their safety.

Scouting missions like this are part of the reasons T’Kon of Asconage loves space travel, but it did not take long to realize that this planet is not ready to meet his people. They are a violent and combative species, and he sees no reason to interact with them.

Everything is going according to plan as T’Kon readies his craft to leave this solar system, when suddenly he is plummeting to the planet below. As Maya recovers from the freak sandstorm, she finds herself looking at the embodiment of her greatest dream and desire. This…man/alien is absolutely the most amazing creature she has ever laid eyes on, and for the first time in her life, she feels a soul-deep connection unlike anything she has ever experienced. T’Kon is struck by the same heady sense, and the feeling that this human female is everything his body craves, but how can they ever be together when they are worlds apart?

This quick read is as hot as the desert sun and just as scorching. Maya takes to her alien like a duck to water, which may seem odd, but when in relation to her profession feels almost natural. T’Kon is much more of a mystery, and one that I would love to see unfold in episodes to come. If you enjoy sci-fi combined with some blistering hot romance, these two are sure to rock your galaxy.

FL did generate some fantastic attention. Here's a question for those of you who have already read FORBIDDEN LOVE

Did this reviewer hit it right on, or is there somehthing else you would have said or added?

FORBIDDEN LOVE Releases Today!!

It's Here!!

Release day for FORBIDDEN LOVE is today!!

A surprise for me too! I got the news early this morning. FORBIDDEN LOVE released a week early-- today, May 13 at Red Rose Publishing! Wow! I am so excited! Unexpected news, but still I'm exicted. I've waited for this and now it is here! For those who expected (like me) the release for next week on the 20th, well I am out there now!

For this very special and unexpected release day I am sharing a new Forbidden Love blub and excerpt right here:

Forbidden Love Blurb:

T’Kon and Maya are galaxies apart, so different yet so much alike…

Exploring the galaxies at faster than light speed (FTL) is routine for the inhabitants of Asconage. T’Kon’s cool-blood culture exists on a planet in the scorch of binary suns. Yet there are governing archaic rules to prohibit interspecies mating with those from different worlds and evolutionary paths.

When T’Kon crashes his spacecraft on Terrain, a seasonal planet barely on the cusp of space travel, he cannot resist Maya, the warm-blooded audacious female who gives him aid. Their desire for each other entices T’Kon to abandon his species moral code.

There is little time to linger inside this illicit passion. The warring factions of her world are closing in. A quick fix of his spacecraft and a fast exit is his best choice. But can T’Kon leave Maya behind and forsake their emerging Forbidden Love?

Forbidden Love Excerpt:

“So how did you learn to speak our language?” Maya asked, “Not your native tongue I’ll bet.”

The mating urge rose in T’Kon anew at the sound of her melodic voice. He scrutinized her through squinted eyes. A crinkle stretched across her nose where a line of minuscule brown dots scattered onto each cheek. He had an impulse to stroke the dots, see if he could rub them off. No, he should not touch her again.

“While studying your planet, I picked up words and phrases.” He said finally.

She leaned across the counter and captured his eyes with hers. “Why are you studying us?”

He did not answer her question. He had told her too much already. The less she knew about him the better. “Take me to my spacecraft.”

She stared at him.

He hissed out more air and then shook his head. “I had not planned contact.”

She scooted around and came to stand close to him. He could tell she wanted to touch him but did not. “Maybe you didn’t plan it but here you are. So why not take advantage of the situation...” her words trailed off and this time she did touch him. She slid her hand over his chest and onto his face.

He caught her fingers in a rough hold. The act caused his talons to unsheathe. “No, I cannot. I will not.” He dropped her hand. A sudden realization—glancing down at his body, he stood naked before her his mating organ erect. “What have you done with my bodily covering?”

“I cut it off,” she answered. “I had to do it so I could examine you to see if you were hurt. Your space suit encased you so tightly, I had no choice."

He hissed close to her ear. "You tore away my covering, now I shall rid you of yours." In a display that surprised even him, T’Kon slid a claw around her back hooking her clothing with a talon. In a swift motion, he slashed it from her. The garments landed on the floor in tattered pieces.

Maya’s heart beat against his chest matching his own accelerated pulse. The heat of her nakedness roused him even more…

He began his exploration anew.

“You want me to touch you here?” He licked across her lips, over her face and then down neck, hovering just above the swell of her breasts.

“Oh yes,” Maya panted on a sigh...

There you have it...

As a romance author, I lean toward the adventuresome in my writing. I love science fiction and all the enticing quantum theories surrounding it. Where characters rush through outer space at (FTL) Faster than Light speed, or teleport into another time, and even slipstream into an alternate reality. I like creating sizzling love scenes too with sexy heroes, and captivating heroines. It just seemed natural to combine all these elements together in my stories and write (SFR) Science Fiction Romance.

I hope you enjoy reading Forbidden Love as much as I enjoyed wrting it!

Edits and More...

Ahh well. You know -- when I got my first round edits for Forbidden Love back from my editor, she didn't find a lot for me to fix. I reworked a few paragraphs, etc. This time, even though she approved my changes and found only a few more things to fix, as I read over my story I found some things I'd like to add or change myself. So I've been doing that. At first, I looked at the story and said, "Great! I'll have this back to her (my editor) in a flash." I even emailed her told her that, even though she always gives me several weeks.

Well, maybe not so fast. I wonder if I'll ever be satisfied with my work. I know other writers go through this too. In addition, this is the very reason I never rush publication or submission. As we become more and more published with our fiction, we have to learn to let go faster. The demand for our work is greater. Do our writing skills improve as well? Do we actually ever get that part down? I'm a firm believer in we never stop learning. If we do, or think we have nothing more to learn about our craft, then our writing could suffer. I've seen this happen with other authors. So I say all the time, we never stop learning and improving as writers. Yet, there is a time to draw the line, and just say-- okay, I'm finished with this one.

When do you decide enough is enough and say, this story is truly ready?
