Heroes Can't Wait

Heroes, Hunks and Hotties... Oh yes!

It's been a while since I featured one of my favorite Heroes To Die For. So watch out, today just might be the day... Hey, is that sexy Ben Browder (Farscape, Stargate) I see in that photo up there? Yeah. Another hero is coming your way.

Here’s a question for you. How do we choose the heroes for our stories? What kind of heroes do you like reading about? Are we attracted to certain types of heroes and why? Probe deep and see what you can find then let me know.

I dearly love Ben Browder! More? Will you post more Ben? lol. Heroes? Hmm... well, I think we all have a secret lover hidden deep in our minds.

Oh yeah, Dianne. Ben is one of my favorite heroes too. How can you tell? lol

What do you want? Revealing secrets about my heroes? lol.

That is a probing question. I'd have to think about it. I'll get back to you. Meanwhile, Ben is great!

Oh girls... the things I could tell you about my fantasy heroes... okay, that's enough, lol. Ben is a hottie!

Yeah, I'd love to see more heroes to die for here. Not that I come just for the guys, mind you.

Okay girls, I'll get on it as soon as I can. And you haven't told me much about your fantasy heroes. Yet.

My favourite hero at the moment is Jackson Brodie from the most recent Kate Atkinson books. I think I've actually fallen in love with him.

Hi Kaye, one of my blog readers recommended Ben for my "hunks over forty" month, but I couldn't find enough photos of him. He is a hottie, though!

As for heroes, as you may know, my favorite hero of all time is Jamie Fraser from Outlander (who, in my mind, looks like Gerard Butler with red hair.) What I love most about Jamie is the purity and fierceness with which he loves his heroine. It's an absolute love, and that's what I strive for in the heroes I write. I admit I favor the Alpha, but I've written Beta before. Whatever his personality, my hero loves his heroine with passion and purity and will move heaven and earth for her.

Jackson sounds like a really great hero, Helenmh. I'd like to read that book when I can find the time. Thanks for stopping by.

Helen Hardt-- yes, Ben is one of those hunks. (Try the Stargate site?)

How beautiful you've phrased it-- ...my hero loves his heroine with passion and purity and will move heaven and earth for her. Great.
Thanks for sharing this.

And yes, oh my, Jamie from Outlander is a real Hero To Die For!

I used to love watching Farscape, was not a happy girl when they chopped it off like that!! Lovely photo of Ben, Kaye!!

I love that last line of yours, Helen - how your hero loves his heroine. You've absolutely nailed it. That's what I strive for too!

Well, when it comes to heroes, I don't look at photographs much. I make up my heroes by behavior.

First, he's crazy about the heroine. That may go without saying, but say it I will.

Then, he has to be intelligent. Ha! You thought I was going to say he was gorgeous. Washboard abs are nice, but I do want a brain behind the handsome face.

Next, he does something. He must have a vocation and do something useful. I like a man who is very good at his work.

To continue, he's a decent man. I like a good man who's been kicked around and it's made him a better man.

And last but not least, we come to young and gorgeous. Tall, sleekly muscled and blond. I hear dark-haired heroes are preferred, but most of my heroes have light hair, and the heroines have dark hair. Probably because my hair is dark. Yes, I fall in love with my heroes.

Happy Halloween!
