Story... Don't Stop

CATAMOUNT SENTINEL

Hot air stifled his lungs yet he could not stop. Dried branches and fallen debris crunched under his calloused and shoeless feet as he ran through the ancient forest, striking the acrid ground with a hard thud. A dense emerald canopy shaded him from the midday sun. He had to make it back to the gateway before change wholly overtook him, exposing his secret to those in pursuit.

Jacade Darquete came to the edge of a rocky cliff and stopped for a second to discard his man clothes before leaping. Fifty feet into the sky over the Appalachian Mountain range, he sensed the transformation become complete.

“Panther, gold Panther,” his grandmother’s words echoed in his head as he soared through the air, “you cannot escape your fate.”

His muscles felt the impact of the ground beneath him as he landed on all fours near his hidden lair...

Hi-- this is an exciting opening. It is the opening right? Good luck on this new one.

Nice idea. I hope you develop it and post more for us to read. I'm having writer's block now, so suggestions to overcome it would be appreciated.

I like it. Keep going and going... don't stop the writing and creating--that's a story killer. (who is the killer in this one anyway?)

I think this needs a bit of a re-write myself, but oh well, it's a start and an idea that came to me. We'll see what else evolves from it...

Thanks for the comments guys.
